Eileen Willingham, editor
BA with distinction (UVirginia), MA (Spanish), MA (Latin American Studies) and PhD (UWisc)
Eileen’s postgraduate training in languages and cross-cultural communication give her unique advantages as an editor. Her experience includes editing reports and manuals for a range of federal government clients, including AusAID, CSIRO, the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, the Department of Defence and the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.
Eileen is a NAATI-certified translator. Before joining WHH in 2011, she worked as an educator and researcher at universities in Australia and the United States, and in community development and public program delivery in the United States and Latin America.
The skills that Eileen developed in her academic career fit well with the editing and publishing we do at WHH. She can assimilate complex information quickly and convey key points accurately to target audiences at the appropriate level, with attention to organisation and detail. She has put these skills to good use in helping to coordinate and edit annual reports and other long, complex publishing projects.
