Eddie Ridwan
Eddie Ridwan brings a unique depth and breadth of international experience to developing and executing business strategies that leverage information technologies.
In addition to his academic and professional track record in Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia, Eddie has worked in the United Kingdom, Vanuatu, Fiji and the Solomon Islands. He can collaborate with people in a wide range of language, cultural and organisational contexts, and communicate about shared learning to achieve results.
Eddie has a strong grounding in high-level work with Australian government agencies. He served as corporate IT architect for IP Australia, and has worked for AusAID in extending global knowledge infrastructure and the delivery of knowledge to developing countries. He also managed product strategy and architecture for Distillery Software, developing advanced tools for intelligence analysts in Australia and like-minded countries.
Born in Indonesia, Eddie received his doctorate in computer science from the University of Canterbury; and he taught and conducted research there and at the University of Indonesia. He joined Spherion Technology Solutions as a project manager, and progressed through the roles of business analyst, applications architect and senior consultant. He also provided education services in the e-business arena.
WHH works with Eddie to construct step-by-step strategies in the migration from print-focused to online publishing that can create outstanding client value.
Many WHH projects require the tailored organisations of deep information sets and complex arguments to support policy development and program delivery. The physical structure, editorial conventions and reader skills that have evolved over centuries of use of the printed book support certain ways of doing this, such as reports of major reviews and detailed manuals.
In the online environment, however, new structures, conventions and skills are emerging. Teaming our senior editors with savvy technologists like Eddie can provide our clients with an opportunity to stay ahead of the curve as the world learns to access and analyse information in very different ways.
Eddie has particular strengths in developing cost-effective ways to improve search and indexing functions to improve workflow and publishing processes; and to develop more sophisticated ways to learn about what other parties are publishing online.
